“Until I discovered the SBDC’s free counseling services, I did not think I would open the business. I felt I didn’t have enough knowledge to successfully open my own business. I made an appointment with James Bennett to learn about the legal aspect and the steps in opening a business, and to gain wisdom from someone far more knowledgeable than myself.
I left my first meeting with James Bennett and was very excited about my dreams becoming a reality. I strongly felt that he equipped me, walked me through the start-up process, and provided me with the tools I needed to start my own business.
My background in teaching kindergarten and adopting a child with special needs has been very impactful to my business. I believe in the importance of putting educational toys with a high play value in the hands of children. Unfortunately, our youngest experienced severe neglect from being in an orphanage for his first three years of life. He has Sensory Processing Disorder as well as cognitive and speech delays. We have learned so much about the importance of having the right tools to help him in school and with daily life skills. This certainly helps us understand the needs of many of our customers.

We have been in business for 2 years, and we are seeing steady growth each month. Our customers have excellent comments about the store, our services, and our products. Of course, our little customers love coming in and playing with the fun toys.”
